George Mukhari

George Mukhari Hospital Development

The hospital was established in 1973 by the then Department of Bantu Administration and Development. After the Medical University of Southern Africa was built in 1976, the hospital started functioning as an academic complex but with regional hospital facilities. It provides a full range of medical care, training of health professionals and provides facilities for clinical research.

The hospital has an outpatient Paediatric Ward that currently cannot handle the level of visitors and has a serious overcrowding problem. They have had to move the waiting area outside to create room but the capacity is still stretched.

Adcock Ingram has offered to help by making a donation towards the construction of a sky roof and waiting area for the Paediatric Ward.
